More of a luxurious work of art than a board-game, the inspiration for the design of this expensive Backgammon board and game pieces came from fusing geometric patterns with eastern art and architectural designs.

Created for the Charles Hollander Collection, 61082 black, white, and yellow diamonds with a total carat weight of 2071.48. The set also boasts over 6.77 kg of yellow gold and about 150 grams of silver. The masterpiece of art, jewelry commanded 10,000 hours of labor and is the most expensive Backgammon set in the world.

Backgammon is a board game for two where pieces are moved in accordance to the roll of dice. The winner is the first person that can remove all of his or her pieces off of the board. Ancient Egyptians are known to have invented the game by playing their version of backgammon called “senet”. Other similar ancient variations of the game have been excavated all over the Middle East.
