Most Expensive Bass Guitar
Written by: jeremy Filed Under: Art, Luxury, Music, World on May 20th, 2008A financially endowed bass player might look at any one of Jens Ritter’s bass guitars, which start at $6,000, and be content. After all, the German luthier’s expensive basses are made with some of the same techniques used to make Stradivarius violins. One customer, however, wasn’t satisfied with one of Ritter’s “normal” guitars and we’re lucky for it. After all, if it weren’t for this customer, we wouldn’t be able to tell you about the world’s most expensive bass guitar.

The Ritter Royal Flora Aurum, as it’s called, has a body carved from a rare, solid piece of maple while the nut is carved from 10,000-year-old mammoth ivory. The fingerboard is decorated with a floral inlay pattern made of 24-karat gold. There’s even a black diamond set in platinum decorating each leaf. Even the bridge, tuner buttons and knobs are cast in gold. The knobs on this luxurious bass hold an additional embellishment—they’re both topped with brilliant-cut diamonds (3.3 carats total).
The Flora Aurum is a work in progress and is on hold for one lucky buyer.
The most expensive bass guitar in the world is valued at $100,000.

i want sell it …i wait your kindly answer..
best regards…
ihmed ibrahim..
why would you want to buy a guitar that expensive, a cheap one would do just fine!! Think here peoples!!
we should learn that it is not the price that we paid for should be worth the value of the item,, as long as you’re satisfied.. then u dont have to care for the price.
That is the sweatest bass guitar ever, i would pay any amount for that guitar
That is the nicest guitar ive ever seen, bass or otherwise. A bit overpriced but c’mon just look at it.
well i like the flying v bass guitars but i find it easier with a strap, my guitar is worth 1500 and it lasts a long time
I think that this is the best bass that i have seen and i have been surfing the web for 3 days .It is a little bit to flashy for me and way to much money. But if i wanted a bass that i would not play or let anyone touch i would buy it. So who ever bought this bass is either crazy or they love to not play the bass and just look at it. but you gotta belive that it is so sweet and i would bye it in a haertbeat so if the prices drop and it goes for sale let me know .(and by the way i am only 12[:)
It shouldn’t matter what the bass is made out of or what it looks like, or how expensive it is. What matters is how it plays.
tht is very nice but if i bourght tht it would not come out of it solid steel case tht is lined with silk and cashmere
@ Miha,..and how it’s sounds!
Still in a 100.000 years, I wouldn’t buy this bass,…
And what about the sound??
my bass is like that, the diference is the price.!= D
actualy the most exbensive bass is valued at 10 million but in not for sale. it was made by carl tomson
Ritter basses are renowned to be the best sounding basses ever…so his $4,500 bass probably sound just as good as this one..
I found the BEST (and not expensive) guitar case. If you were to buy this MOST EXPENSIVE bass, you definitely want to protect it with this amazing case!
“Finally a guitar case that outperforms wood and plastic. To test their new case, Reunion Blues threw it off the roof of a 3 story building. When the guitar inside emerged unscathed, they did it again! Same results. Check out the video (http://bit.ly/ReunionBlues)
In the past these cases were pretty pricey, but now, this new one is not! Finally I could afford to get one!
Anyone seeking a wonderful custom-built-to-your-specs bass should review the work of master craftsman Jimmy Wilson, at http://www.landingbass.com. He specializes in “short scale” models, is a good friend and a serious musician as well.
why would you pay that much for a bass and too me its ugly my fender squier jazz bass i reckon looks better and its only worth $500 and it soundz great, its not the bass its the bass player
I would never want it.
1.its worth so much i would be scared to even pick it up cos i would be freaking out that i would break it.
2.Its just plain ugly,no matter how much gold/diamonds are on it,its just ugly, and looks too over accessorized.
Carl Thompson Cost more
How much more awesome would it be just to have a collection of say 300 incredibly nice guitars instead, or maybe just a couple of 100 gibson’s and spend the rest on a massive PA system, so everyone can hear how incredible you are
Guys.Remember that this bass was comissioned by a jewler in Los Aneles,to be put on display in their store. Not as an everyday bass,to be played. It’s over the top,but so bloody what.If it was a car it’d be drooled over, rather than critisized for it’s price tag.
What a waste. I can just imagine the rich snob who commissioned this piece. Probably can’t play to save his life.
Don’t you guys understand anything? It’s obviously a collector’s piece, and like any collector’s piece, it costs what the market will bear. You can hate and be jealous that you can’t afford this instrument, and try to assure yourselves that it probably doesn’t sound that good (I guarantee you it does. Any Ritter bass does.) or that the guy buying it probably can’t play, or isn’t worthy. But the fact is that this piece of ART, and that’s what it is, is worth what it’s worth to somebody. Just like a 20’s Deucenberg is worth what it’s worth to somebody, or a Picasso is worth what it’s worth to somebody else.
