A multimillion dollar purchase by BankRate, a financial information site, has just made one savvy blogger the owner of the most expensive blog in the world.
Johns Wu, founder and sole employee of Bankaholic, has been paid $12.4 million for his financial blog and may receive up to an additional $2.5 million over the next year. The blog, created in WordPress receives income from Google AdSense and credit card affiliate links. Posts on Bankaholic range from those advertising gift card promotions to rants about the current state of the economy.
Mr. Wu will stay on to ease the transition for an unspecified period of time.
