Hi there i would just like to make a few comments about the cost of living in australia and japan ..
I have been living in Japan for 3 yrs now I am from Sydney Australia I currently run an english academy in Matsuyama ..
Before I came to Japan both my wife and I were working full time in Sydney combined salary 80.000 aud per year.. less tax 30.000 that,s about 50000 a year net...
rent 1200 a month food 360 bills 270 then we had a child
my wife stopped working it was going to cost 300 a week for day care if my wife went back to work just couldn,t afford it,..
My point is that we have had to leave australia in search of a better life and cheaper and it,s right here in what,s claimed as the worlds most expensive country... here are some facts...
cheaper restaurants
cheaper tobacco
less income tax
cheaper cars/electronics
cheaper clothes/shoes
cash heavy society less declared
daycare charged on % on your salary
safe little crime
cheaper rent if u know where to look.
I believe that if you take average salary of an Australian and living expenses Australians are living on credit they have no disposible income always borrowing from one card to another.. Toooooo expensive and unfortunately with 2 children soon I can,t go back We are very comfortable here financially no debt less tax more cash....
yours sincerely jeremy sanhard.......
