Most Expensive Haircut

The Sultan of Brunei
The Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah of Brunei, whose estimated worth is $17 billion, spent $24,000—on a haircut.
The world’s most expensive haircut was performed by hairdresser Ken Modestou of London’s Dorchester Hotel. The stylist, whose usual fee for a cut is $43, was flown over 7,000 miles in a private suite on Singapore Airlines, possibly to limit the risk of his—and therefore the sultan’s—exposure to swine flu.
The sultan has been receiving haircuts from Modestou for 16 years.

Stuart Phillips
Prior to the sultan’s exorbitant haircut, the world’s most expensive haircut has been performed by official BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) hairstylist Stuart Phillips, whose clients inclue a host of celebrities from Jean-Claude Van Damme to Ivana Trump. His client, a retired millionaire, paid first-class airfare from Italy to London, enlisted a limousine service to get her to Phillips’ salon and engaged the celebrity stylist for an entire day. The total cost of this hairdressing adventure: £8,000. For those of us in the US, that’s around $16,000.
Phillips’s standard fee is around $300.
