The point of the gizmondo and zodiac was not the games released for it, but it could be used in emulation. They was powerful enough to play any of the emulators out at the time. Portable playstation? or portable n64? snes? nes? genesis? etc.. Not counting the fact that with the right software you could play movies on them, years before the psp and it's umd movies. But ya they still flopped, because the DS and PSP can still do emulation if you hack them and are better. I think the DS came out on the tailend of the zodiac's lifespan (could be wrong about this, if not on the tailend it was close enough on the horizon that people decided to wait).

Yea I think the Gizmodo was a complete fail for them,
a crash and burn if you ask me definatly not worth it then again so many consoles and other gagdets back then cost so much money with so crappy graphics and with so little features its crazy when you think about what you spent back them and how much you could have saved now.

yeah I actually bought that game gear. i think it cost me about $4k which was a bargain at the time as I resold it on e-bay 14 years later for 82 times its purchase price.

I recall reading on EGM, a looong time ago, that, in the early 90s, some english store sold a special edition of Sega's Game Gear; it was coated with gold and diamonds.
