Most Expensive Laptop

Written by: tom Filed Under: Electronics, Luxury, World on March 28th, 2007

If you thought your 17” Apple MacBook or Alienware Aurora mALX qualified as an expensive laptop, think again.

In 1982 GriD Systems released the Compass 1100 laptop costing about $10,000 (inflation adjusted $20,200). Even this cost pales in comparison to the reports of a costly laptop that luxury manufacturer Luvaglio London is set to release in the near future by special order the most expensive laptop ever sold, with a price tag of a million dollars.

As of now all of the details are very sparse and the technical specifications have not been made fully available. We aren’t even sure what this laptop is made with to give it a cost of $1,000,000, but the exterior looks impressive. You can bet with a price this excessive, the expensive laptop will be a spectacle of precious metals and materials and include more than a couple gemstones.

In late 2005 the Dutch company Ego Lifestyle B.V. released the Tulip E-Go Diamond laptop, which was previously the world’s most expensive laptop and this mobile computer had over 80 total carats of diamonds and a retail price of €283,000.

But computer technology physically changes too fast for this, not just shrinking, but rebuilt from scratch using new electronics inventions. Also, adding jewelry to things to make them the most expensive of their kind is lame. How about a laptop that is genuinely the most expensive without relying on non-computer gimmicks like jewels and gold? If I stuff my 386 with diamonds, and replace the plastic with platinum, will it appear here? If I put jewels and gold on a grocery-store cake, will you post it? Post something expensive in itself.

If i had to spend a million dollars for just a laptop…
    i’ rather buy a house (300K)
    benz car (around 50K)
    air mac pro (3K)
    hd tv 52 aquos (3K
    etc…
    i could buy a lot from that…
    HAHAHA

I think thats completely stupid. Who cares about the damn outter shell. thats stupid. why would you pay more for a laptop than you would for a house. That looked kinda lame anyways. Dell XPS or Alienware is probably a better running laptop than that because they actually pay attention to performance and not whether or not they contacted the right dealer for diamonds. lame

Would have to aggree with most the people above me. This site should list things that are most expensive for their own performance not because someone glazed it with jewelary. Same for the Cell phone and other electronics. I want to see some pimped out 20K laptop that has 36gigs RAM and 1 terabyte of disc space…

Looks cool and wouldn’t mind the shell covering my xps 1730,however the gold and jewels dont have to be real… after all who cares about a fancy shell when ur playing Crisis on max requirements?

I’d imagine it is waterproof and made to last a lifetime of abuse, just like a Vertu phone. And not to mention very heavy.

this is ok if your rich but if you don’t have millions of dollars then any laptop will do

  19. Posted by anonymous 13th May, 2009 at 3:06 pm

    here is the spec

The laptop comes in a self opening case and features a 17-inch wide-screen LED display with an anti-glare coating, 128GB hard drive and Blu-Ray player.

There is screen is state of the art, it features a self cleaning system so you can keep your grubby little hands off of it.

What would a laptop be without a security system and what would world’s most expensive laptop be without an expensive security system? This one doesn’t disappoint, it comes with a colored diamond which must be inserted into the power button to start it up.
