The game Trivial Pursuit® has been a favorite of board game enthusiasts since its official introduction in 1982. The game was invented back in 1979 when two Canadian friends decided to test each other’s knowledge of trivia, which led to the creation of their very own board game. A few years later in 1988, Parker Brothers purchased the rights to the game and the rest is history.
One version of the game is making history of its own. A beautiful and luxurious leather-bound edition of the game is being retailed by Zontik Games. While it’s not as fancy as the most expensive backgammon set, the board itself is meticulously leather-inlaid by hand and then embossed in gold or silver with felt-lined storage compartments for the game pieces. The dice cups and question card boxes are also inlaid with leather, making you wonder how many cows went into making just one of these expensive Trivial Pursuit game sets.
Depending on how you want to customize your board, the most expensive Trivial Pursuit game set will set you back between $4,405 and $7,105 USD. Depending on the success of these editions, one day they might even become an answer to a question in Trivial Pursuit. Oddly enough, if you live in Canada or the US, this expensive game set is not available to you.
