World’s Most Expensive Mattresses

People have been tirelessly searching for the best and most comfortable mattress for years. Tempur-Pedic, Kingsdown, Select Comfort, and Healthsmart by Simmons are some of the most recognizable names in mattresses, and some of the best sellers too. Beds with these brand names are known for their hypoallergenic components and control switches. What’s funny about the expensive bed market is that there are no conclusive studies about what surface is better for the most productive sleep, it simply has to do with individual preference.

Hastens Vividus

The Vividus—made by Hastens—is the most expensive bed in the world. Its name is Latin for “Full of Life.” Sleeping on the Swedish designed Vividus bed has been described as “sleeping on a cloud.” All that sounds pretty appealing until you see the price tag of $59,750. That’s a far cry from your average $700 queen-sized mattress.

If you’re looking to buy a little closer to home, then check out America’s most expensive mattress—the E. S. Kluft Beyond Luxury Sublime.

World's Most Expensive Mattresses - E. S. Kluft Beyond Luxury Sublime

Each Kluft mattress is handcrafted by a bedding artisan and the Beyond Luxury Sublime is no exception. Made with a blend of cashmere, silk, exotic wools, high-quality horsehair, certified organic cotton and all-natural Talaly latex, the most expensive American-made mattress is both truly luxurious and truly comfortable.

The mattress features a tissue pick design to offset the cream-colored jacquard damask and the surface is emblazoned with a large Wedgewood blue medallion for a stately, royal look.

For those without 44 grand to spare, Kluft offers beds at a variety of price points—some below $1,000. Best of all, they even offer a 20-year warranty.

without sleep your whole system shuts down, so whats wrong with looking for the best sleep you can get? Think of all the great things you can do on a really good mattress!!! If I had the $$$ I would buy two and push them together to make a super bed.

some people can really spend
a lot of money on things that don’t really matter in life.

You are absolutely right, but sleep does indeed matter. There is nothing more refreshing than a good sleep which in my experience depends on what you sleep. Spending lots of money on something that you spend a 3rd of your life on can be quantified (I think so).

Agreed, I question some of the stuff I buy but sleep is the most important thing (well, top 3) so that makes a $33,000 mattress justified.

Good sleep is essential. When you are 18, a cheap bastard of a mattress does not matter so much. As the years pile up, a good mattress becomes imperative.

I belong to the average-income group but I spent a considerable amount of money on my mattress which I paid for in cash. People spend money on gadgets, jewelry, makeup, clothes but I value my night’s sleep very much. I’ve had the most amazing, comfortable sleep for the past 3 years of my life. You just can’t put a price on that.

the mattress is only worth that much if someone buys it, otherwise it's garbage

Sleeping on a Tempur is a life altering experience! If you can afford one, buy one.

The only way a mattress is worth that much money , is if it was stuffed with hundred Dollar bills That equal the amount you pay for it !!!!

I know for a fact, that the more you spend on a mattress the better quality sleep you get. I love my bed.

I have a king size bed, the brand is great, but there are greater ones out there.

I sleep by myself, because I bought the kind of bed "I wanted" my fiance has to get his own, because he complained that my bed did not fit his particular level of comfort….well, well, well, that's good though, because I think a lot of people forget that no two people desire the same sleeping conditions, which is a health aspect to take on. So, I just may go shopping for a bed like the Vividus.

A lot of people in America are allergic to Latex…..I can't to the latex beds…but I'd have to see how far deep the latex is in the bed, to decide if I would really have a problem.

I tried it all…from all kinds of Simmons, Latex, Tempur, water beds ….until I found my Hästens. It was amazing. First I thought it was only blablabla but the first morning after sleeping on a Hästens I woke up 1 hour before the alarm clock sounded thinking that I had overslept and was late to work. It was fantastic to see I still had one more hour in bed and felt so rested. mmmh. So worth the price!

My husband and I purchased a king sized Sleep Number 4 years ago that seemed expensive at the time at $4000. We HATE it. I can't express that enough. They are horrible. The concept sounds good and may be good if it could be executed better but…WORST mistake we ever made. Cheap foam surrounds 2 blow up mattress with a foam topper over it. Needless to say we're looking for a new, nicer mattress.

This post was clearly written by someone who not only does not have a Hästens bed, but someone who has never laid down on one! Once you feel it, you know it, period.
